چکیده

In the present work, we perform time-series analysis on the latitude bins of the solar full disk (SFD) images of Nobeyama Radioheliograph (NoRH ) at 17 GHz. The flux modulation method traces the passage of radio features over the solar disc and the autocorrelation analysis of the time-series data of SFD images (one per day) for the period 1999–2001 gives the rotation period as a function of latitude extending from 60◦S to 60◦N. The results show that the solar corona rotates less differentially than the photosphere and chromosphere, i.e., it has smaller gradient in the rotation rate.

Baltic Astronomy, vol. 21, 509–516, 2012 ISOLATED SUNSPOT WITH A DARK PATCH IN THE CORONAL EMISSION

On the base of the 17 GHz radio maps of the Sun taken with the Nobeyama Radio Heliograph we estimate plasma parameters in the specific region of the sunspot atmosphere in the active region AR 11312. This region of the sunspot atmosphere is characterized by the depletion in coronal emission (soft X-ray and EUV lines) and the reduced absorption in the a chromospheric line (He I 1.083 μm). In the ...

Vlbi Polarisation Images of the Gravitational Lens B0218+357

We present preliminary polarisation VLBI maps of the gravitational lens system B0218+357, made at 3 different frequencies. 1. Summary We have made VLBI polarisation observations of the gravitational lens system Reduction of the data was made using standard procedures in the AIPS software package. Preliminary maps are presented in Figure 1. The " core " and " knot " components , seen by Patnaik ...

A multi-wavelength study of solar coronal-hole regions showing radio enhancements

We observed 17 GHz microwave-enhanced regions in equatorial coronal holes (ECH) together with extreme-ultraviolet (EUV), far-ultraviolet (FUV) and visible emissions in a search for temperature increases which might explain the bright spots in radio wavelengths. The ultraviolet (UV) observations span a wide range of formation temperatures (8000 K to 630 000 K). Increased UV emission was observed...

Solar coronal differential rotation from XBPs in Hinode/XRT and Yohkoh/SXT images

Aims. Our aim is to identify and trace the X-ray Bright Points (XBPs) over the disk and use them as tracers to determine the coronal rotation. This investigation will help to clarify and understand several issues: whether (i) the corona rotates differentially; (ii) the rotation depends on the sizes of the XBPs; and (iii) dependence on phases of the solar magnetic cycle. Methods. We analysed the...

On the origin of polar radio brightenings at short millimeter wavelengths

Polar regions of the Sun are areas where coronal holes are most profound and where the heating and acceleration of solar wind plasma takes place. The observed and yet unexplained radio emission from these regions may be related to the origin of the solar wind flow. The recent analysis of radio brightenings near the poles at 87 GHz (3.5 mm) suggested structural counterparts like polar plumes, EU...
